A beautiful March day in Green Lake

Ed. note: Wasn’t it a gorgeous day today in Green Lake?
Check out this fantastic shot from our favorite local photographer, Jeff Blucher.  He also snapped the picture that we used in our last post, Join Arthur Lee Jacobson on a Green Lake Trees tour.
Thanks, Jeff!

The Streetwise Gardener: Signs of spring in Green Lake

Look out, Old Man Winter, Spring is sneaking up on you. (Where are you anyway? Cabo?)  All over Green Lake, signs of spring are bustin’ out with brio.  Precocious young cherry trees are sending out exploratory blossoms. Hairy magnolia buds are swelling. Intrepid stout daylily shoots are making an appearance. And, most exciting of all, [...]

The Green Lake Archives: When Does a Dog Become a Public Nuisance?

Wow.  Check out this doozy that I came across in the Green Lake Archives.  Quite crotchety, that “Green Lake Kicker.”
What do you think?  Is Kicker’s concluding paragraph actually suggesting poisoning the owners of “tramp dogs”?  Or am I just giving him too much creep cred?

Rainy Green Lake

[Ed. note: A big thank you to My Green Lake contributor Jeff Blucher for this fabulous shot, snapped yesterday at the lake during that big downpour.]

Misty Green Lake

Editor’s note: Remember all of the fog and mist on Saturday morning?
The talented Jeff Blucher once again brought his camera to the shores of Green Lake this past weekend and captured these shots:

The colors of autumn around Green Lake

Much gratitude to Rosemary Washington for sharing more of her outstanding photography:

Green Lake before the rain

As of noon, the rain has let up, but the skies are still white.  No thunderstorms or tornadoes yet!

Green Lake sunset a la Horseknuckle

Our dear reader Horseknuckle snapped these (absolutely insane) shots yesterday evening:

Yikes! Rain pouring down on Green Lake!

At about 4:15 this afternoon in Green Lake, a flash of lightening was followed by a (very!) loud thunder clap.  As of 4:30, the rain is pouring down.
Thanks to Mitch for this great shot, which he snapped about 15 minutes before the storm began:
