The Love ‘em or Leave ‘em Valentine’s Day Dash will return to Green Lake on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011. More than 3,000 registrants are expected by organizers, who are encouraging carpooling. The 5K run/walk will begin on the southwest side of Green Lake, near the Aqua Theater, at 9:30 a.m. A Kids’ Dash for kids 10 and under will begin at 10:15 a.m. Entry fees are $30 in advance, or you can register 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at the event site, on the day of the race, for $40. Reminder: lots (lots!) of people will be in Green Lake tomorrow morning
Don’t forget: 2,800+ Love ‘em or Leave ‘em Valentine’s Day Dash participants will be descending on our neighborhood tomorrow (Saturday) morning. The race will utilize both the track around Green Lake as well as some streets, which will be cut off to traffic. Check this map to see which streets will be impacted. Note that Aurora will not be affected, and that only traffic heading clockwise around the lake will be diverted. The streets should only be affected between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m., although there could be an impact until 10:30.
