New 4-H robotics club for kids teaches engineering, science and math skills

A new 4-H club is offering kids a chance to explore engineering, science and math by building robots. The NeXT Minds Robotics 4-H Club meets in a variety of locations in northwest Seattle, including the Green Lake Branch Library (7364 E Green Lake Dr N). News from the Seattle Public Theater (SPT): There are still openings in Circus Skills for Actors, a mid-winter break theater camp for students in grades 3-5. The camp is being offered by the SPT Youth Program in partnership with Teatro Zinzanni. It will be held at the Green Lake Bathhouse (7312 West Green Lake Dr N) Feb. 21-25, 2012. Financial aid is available. The Seattle Public Theater at the Green Lake Bathhouse presents a free production of Hamlet

The Seattle Public Theater (SPT) at the Green Lake Bathhouse (7312 West Green Lake Dr N) invites you to a free youth ensemble production of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Performances are scheduled for tonight (Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012) at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. All youth shows are free; however, donations to the youth scholarship fund are gladly appreciated. Mid-winter break camps at Seattle Public Theater

The Seattle Public Theater (SPT) Youth Program, in partnership with Teatro Zinzanni and the Seattle Opera, is offering mid-winter break theater camps to students in grades 3-12. John Marshall building may open as a middle school in 2013

  The John Marshall building was last used by SPS as an alternative high school. The John Marshall High School closed in 2008. The building currently houses several tenants, including the Northwest Girlchoir, the Seattle Area German American (SAGA) School, the Lifetime Learning Center, the Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine and Little Explorers School. It is also being used as a temporary location for Engine 16 during the renovation of  Fire Station 16.   SPS spokesperson Teresa Wippel confirmed on Tuesday (Nov. 17, 2011) that the re-opening of John Marshall school is a possibility.
