The power is out for more than 13,000 Seattle City Light customers, including several in the southeast part of the Green Lake neighborhood. Seattle City Light says the power went out at 3:06 p.m. and it should be back on by 4:30 p.m. The cause is still being investigated and crews are on the scene. An outage map is available here.

Brighter, more efficient LED streetlights being installed on Green Lake streets
New LED streetlights are being installed on residential streets in the north Seattle area, including Green Lake. This is the second phase of Seattle City Light‘s installation of LED streetlights. Last year, 6,000 were installed between the Ship Canal and North 65th St. City Light is now installing 12,000 more from N 65th St to the northern border of City Light’s service territory [PDF map]. Shortly after midnight this morning (Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010), a spectacular thunder and lightning storm hit Seattle.
