McDonald Elementary students commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

McDonald Elementary School held a March for Freedom to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Friday afternoon (Jan. 13, 2012). The students carried signs and banners honoring Dr. King. Thanks to Marina Gordon for sharing these pictures: McDonald is temporarily located at Lincoln High School (4400 Interlake Ave N). It will be moved to its permanent location at 114 NE 54th St this September, following refurbishment work.

Upcoming tours and open house at McDonald Elementary School

McDonald Elementary School will host tours on Wednesday, Feb. 29 and Monday, March 5, 2012 at the school’s temporary location at Lincoln High School (4400 Interlake Ave N). The tours are for adults only and will be conducted 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. The tours will be led by PTA representatives and will include brief observations of classrooms. Prospective parents will also hear from Principal Grinager and the McDonald PTA. Seattle Public Schools proposes elementary school boundary changes in north Seattle

Seattle Public Schools has announced proposed changes to the boundaries of John Stanford International School (4057 5 Ave NE). The proposed changes would also impact Fremont’s B.F. Day Elementary School (3921 Linden Ave N) and McDonald Elementary School (4400 Interlake Ave N). McDonald serves children from Wallingford, Green Lake and the University District.
