A residential water service line at 5th Ave NE & NE 63rd St broke last night (Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012). The line has now been fixed. Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) says that there may be brown or yellow coloration in the water on 5th Ave NE between N 60th and N 65th until later in the afternoon today. If your water is brown with sediment or the pressure is intermittent, SPU recommends that you do not drink the water until it is clear again. New overhead crosswalk sign and repaired sidewalk at Green Lake Elementary School
Updated Friday, Sept. 23. The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) reports that they have completed a Safe Routes to School project at Green Lake Elementary School (2400 N 65th St). In an effort to make walking and biking to and from the school safer and more accessible, SDOT installed an illuminated overhead crosswalk sign and repaired a sidewalk. The crosswalk light has yet to be turned on, but will be soon. According to SDOT, the light still needs to be connected to the electrical grid by Seattle City Light.
