Zoka responds to warning letter from FDA

On Sept. 9, 2011, Zoka Coffee Roaster and Tea Company received a warning letter from the Public Health Service of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The letter related to an April 2011 inspection of Zoka’s coffee roasting facility in north Queen Anne. During the April inspection, FDA investigators documented serious violations of FDA’s “Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulation for foods,” including a failure “to take effective measures to exclude pests from the processing areas and protect against the contamination of food on the premises by pests.” Rodent excreta pellets and insect larva were found in the facility. Did the Queen Anne Creeper appear in Green Lake?

Last Thursday (June 17, 2010), our news partner Queen Anne View reported on the arrest of the “Queen Anne Creeper.” The Queen Anne Creeper has been described as a white male with a goatee who drove around Queen Anne in a stolen vehicle, stopping to ask women along the streets for the time or for directions to Magnolia.  In some of the instances he made suggestive and inappropriate sexual comments to the women.
