Construction begins at Green Lake Village

Construction work at the former Vitamilk Dairy site, a three-acre empty lot of land often referred to by locals as “The Big Hole,” has begun. The property, located between Woodlawn Ave NE, NE 71st St, 5th Ave NE and NE 72nd St, has been a vacant pit for for four years. A large mixed-use development called “Green Lake Village” is being bult on the site. The expected opening date is Spring 2014. PCC offers 50-cent organic drip coffee through the month of March

PCC Natural Markets launched a coffee promotion today (March 1, 2012) that will run through the end of March. Eight-ounce cups of organic drip coffee are being offered for 50 cents. And, each Foursquare, Yelp or FaceBook check-in to a PCC store in March will net a free 8-ounce drip coffee. The property, located between Woodlawn Ave NE, NE 71st St, 5th Ave NE and NE 72nd St, has been a vacant pit for for four years. Donate sweaters and coats at KCTS 9 and PCC’s Mister Rogers’ Sweater Drive

The Mister Rogers’ Sweater Drive is returning to the Greenlake PCC (7504 Aurora Ave N). Through Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, KCTS 9 and PCC Natural Markets are collecting sweaters and coats for neighbors in need. All donated sweaters and coats will go to Seattle nonprofits Wellspring Family Services and Northwest Center. This is the fourth year that KCTS 9 and PCC have teamed up for the drive. The greatest need is for children’s items, but all new or gently used adult and children’s sweaters and coats will be accepted for donation.
