The introduction to the poll reads: It’s amazing that the mural at 63rd Street and Aurora lasted as long as it did without vandalism. A new art show is up at the office of Green Lake dentist Dr. Shokofeh Tabaraie. Last year, Dr. Tabaraie opened up Lakeside Dental Center as a space for local artists to show their work. ‘Art Chix’ art opening at Cafe Lulu this Saturday night
The world premier of “Art Chix” will be this Saturday (April 2, 2011), 6-9 p.m., at Cafe Lulu (6417 Latona Ave NE). Artists Nancy Jenkins, Leah Kaufman, Dana Nunnelly, Roseanne Olson, Cary Pillo, Anna Rhodes, D. Lisa West, and Sheryl Westergren will be showing their work, which is currently on display on the walls of Cafe Lulu. Magic Magpie henna studio opens in east Green Lake
A second new henna studio has opened in east Green Lake. Magic Magpie Studio shares a storefront with Mehndi Madness at 6410 Latona Ave NE, the former location of Scratch Patch. Scratch Patch closed in December. Magic Magpie Studio is owned by henna artist Antoinette Hippe. Antoinette, who is also a painter, has paintings on display and available for sale in the shop.
