A new preschool is opening soon in the old John Marshall High School building (520 NE Ravenna Blvd). Cindy and Jared Vandegrift are opening Little Explorers School in the building’s former faculty room on the ground floor. The space will be comprised of one main room, two small rooms and a bathroom. The Little Explorers Preschool Program will be offered Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., beginning September 2011. There will be three enrollment options: five days per week (Monday – Friday), three days per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday), and two days per week (Tuesday and Thursday). More information…

"Open Castle" at Green Lake United Methodist Church, April 2010
The Green Lake United Methodist Church (6415 1st Ave NE, across the street from Green Lake Elementary) is holding an “Open Castle” on Saturday, April 24, 2010 (10 a.m. – noon) and Sunday, April 25, 2010 (noon – 2 p.m.). All are welcome to tour the castle, built in 1903, and enjoy free espresso drinks from the GLUMC coffee cart. Kids are invited to create green crafts in honor of Earth Day.
