Tonight (Saturday, July 24, 2010) was Medic 16′s last night in Green Lake. I spoke with Greg Forslund, a fire fighter at Fire Station 16 (6846 Oswego Place NE). Forslund confirmed that The Seattle Fire Department is transferring the Medic One Unit to Station 17 (temporarily located at 4557 11th Ave NE), and that tonight was the unit’s last shift at Station 16. Engine 16, a fire engine, will remain at Station 16, which is scheduled to be renovated in 2011. Medic One Units provide Advanced Life Support. Collision on E Green Lake Dr N stops traffic
Traffic came to a standstill this afternoon (Tuesday, July 6, 2010) after a van hit a car. Engine 16 was sent to E Green Lake Dr N & Bagley Ave N At 2:44 p.m. When I arrived at the scene at 3 p.m., a woman in a neck brace was being wheeled on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance. Large emergency response sent to Green Lake Park for water rescue
Today (Monday, June 28, 2010), between 3:32 p.m. and 3:38 p.m, a total of 21 emergency response units were sent to Green Lake’s east beach for a water rescue. Happily, all is well. At 3:49 p.m., The Seattle Fire Department tweeted that a boat had overturned on Green Lake and the “person is now on the shore and uninjured.” This is the second large water rescue at Green Lake this month. Body found in Green Lake
A man’s body was found in Green Lake this morning. At 7:56 a.m., 13 rescue units were sent to 7312 W Green Lake Dr after reports came in from passerby of a body in the water. While fire fighters at the scene reported that the man was 70 years old, My Green Lake tipster Silver heard via the city’s Police, Fire, and EMS scanner that the man was 74 years old. Eight-car pileup accident at the 7-Eleven at 73rd and Aurora
SeattleCrime.com is reporting over twitter that there was an eight-car pileup this evening (Saturday, May 8, 2010) at N 73rd St and Aurora Ave N. According to the tweets, at least five people are injured, and at least two of the cars are parked vehicles. My Green Lake tipster Michael L Bowers confirms: “Car crashes through bushes, other cars in 7 Eleven parking lot. Driver fled? Multiple injuries.” The original 911 dispatch was at 8:25 p.m. As of 9:20 p.m., five emergency response units have been sent to the scene and the accident is still listed as an “active incident.”…
