The North Helpline Food Bank (12736 33rd Ave NE) is planning a Halloween food drive. On Monday, October 31, 2011, volunteers will be collecting food and personal care items in several neighborhoods, including Green Lake. The North Helpline Food Bank feeds the hungry and provides emergency assistance to residents of zip codes 98125, 98133, 98155, 98177, and 98115. There’s a great post over on Lake City Live about a new NYT interactive feature: a map that illustrates Netflix rental patterns by zip code. It’s a bit hard to pinpoint Green Lakers using data that is broken down by zip code, as Green Lake straddles both 98103 and 98115. Most of the neighborhood is in 98103, but everything east of 1st Ave NE is in 98115.
