Green Lake’s Spud Fish and Chips

Jeff Blucher, our favorite Green Lake photographer, headed out this morning and got a couple of great shots of a Green Lake institution: Spud Fish and Chips (6860 E Green Lake Way N). Spud has been a Green Lake fixture since 1940. The current building dates back to 1959 and has been designated a Historical Site by the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, which describes it as “one of Seattle’s best examples of roadside architecture.” An image of the previous Spud building, dated 1956, can be found in the Seattle Municipal Archives: photo credit: Seattle Municipal Archives
