Seattle Public Schools Early Enrollment provides families an opportunity to get their school assignment and avoid the crowds of the busy spring and summer enrollment periods. All students who participate in early enrollment receive an initial assignment to their designated school. Early enrollment events are planned for several Seattle locations, including Green Lake. New overhead crosswalk sign and repaired sidewalk at Green Lake Elementary School

Updated Friday, Sept. 23. The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) reports that they have completed a Safe Routes to School project at Green Lake Elementary School (2400 N 65th St). In an effort to make walking and biking to and from the school safer and more accessible, SDOT installed an illuminated overhead crosswalk sign and repaired a sidewalk. The crosswalk light has yet to be turned on, but will be soon. According to SDOT, the light still needs to be connected to the electrical grid by Seattle City Light. Crosswalks and sidewalks surrounding Green Lake Elementary School to receive safety upgrades

Walking and biking improvements are coming soon to the area surrounding Green Lake Elementary School (2400 N 65th St). The improvements are being made by SDOT as a part of the Safe Routes to School program. The program is funded by the Bridging the Gap levy, passed by Seattle voters in 2006. Duck settles in at Green Lake Elementary School – UPDATED with photos of the ducklings walking to Green Lake

  Students at Green Lake Elementary School (2400 N 65th St) have been playing host to a duck who has made a nest right in front of the school’s office door. The duck has been sitting on her nest for two weeks. “We have cones up and a string around the area with a kid-made sign warning passers by not to disturb her,” says Angela Blemker, Kindergarten teacher. “We all feel pretty lucky she chose us as a safe haven, though I don’t really know what she was thinking. Lend a hand at Green Lake Elementary School’s annual Spring Clean Up

Green Lake Elementary School (2400 N 65th St) will be hosting their annual Spring Clean Up at the school on Saturday, May 21, 2011, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., rain or shine. The school’s Garden Club invites the community to join them in cleaning garden beds and getting the school grounds ready for the summer. Participants can bring their own tools or use tools provided by the Garden Club.
