The newly-formed Green Lake Chamber of Commerce has a new regular meeting time. The group now meets on the fourth Monday of every month at 7 p.m. The next meeting will be Monday, May 23, 2011. Meetings will now be held in the Board Room at The Hearthstone (6720 E Green Lake Way N). Previous meetings were in The Hearthstone’s Chapel. All Green Lake business owners are welcome to participate in the group, which held its first meeting on Feb. 22. Participating business owners are currently crafting by-laws. On Jan. 13, 2011, several Green Lake business owners met to discuss the possibility of forming a Green Lake Chamber of Commerce. Attendees included representatives from Windermere Green Lake, Healing Tortoise Acupuncture and Herbs, Lifestyle Chiropractic, zoeyogurt, Seattle Public Theater, Handy Admin, Acupuncture Medical Center, Mud Puddle Fitness Center, Jodees Desserts, My Green Lake, Eben Design, and Robeks Smoothies. Green Lake Chamber of Commerce forming
Unlike many Seattle neighborhoods, Green Lake does not have a Chamber of Commerce. Although there was an active group in the 1960s – 1980s, it has been defunct for several years. Recently, several neighborhood business owners have discussed the possibility of forming a new Green Lake Chamber of Commerce. All interested Green Lake business owners are welcome at an exploratory meeting on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at 7 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Greenlake Bar & Grill (7200 E Green Lake Dr N).
