Seattle Canoe and Kayak Club plant liquidation tomorrow

The Seattle Canoe and Kayak Club (SCKC), which is located at the Green Lake Small Craft Center at the southwest corner of Green Lake (5900 West Green Lake Way N), is holding their annual plant liquidation tomorrow (Saturday, April 28, 2012), 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Floral and edible plant starts will be available at the Aqua Theater, located right next to the Small Craft Center. Donations made for the plants will benefit SCKC.

More than $500 raised on Earth Day for Big Leaf Maple bench

An Earth Day celebration was held last Sunday (April 22, 2012) on the west side of Green Lake Park, near the stump of a Big Leaf Maple tree that was cut down following a winter storm. Earth Day celebration will raise funds for new Green Lake bench

An Earth Day celebration and fundraiser will be held tomorrow (Sunday, April 22, 2012), 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., at the stump of a Big Leaf Maple tree that was cut down following a winter storm. The stump, which has been decorated with flowers several times in recent months, is on the Green Lake path, roughly 1/4 mile north of the Aqua Theater (5900 West Green Lake Way N). “GiveBIG” to nonprofit organizations on May 2

A Seattle Foundation program called “GiveBIG” is scheduled for Wednesday, May 2, 2012. GiveBIG is a one-day, online charitable giving event “to inspire people to give generously to nonprofit organizations who make our region a healthier and more vital place to live.” Each donation made to the more than 1,200 nonprofit organizations between midnight and midnight on May 2 will receive a pro-rated portion of the matching funds (or “stretch”) pool.
