Green Lake Stroller Strides wins national award

Athena Frederick of Seattle Stroller Strides has been named 2011 Stroller Strides Franchisee of the Year by the national company. 292 franchisees across the USA were eligible for the award. Nominees are required to provide a video presentation representing their accomplishments throughout the year. Here is Athena’s video: Stroller Strides is a fitness program that new moms can do with their babies. There are eight Seattle locations, including Green Lake Park, where moms can often be seen power walking and body toning using exercise tubing and their strollers. Parks Department offers lunchtime adult boot camp at Green Lake Park

photo credit: zach.hodgson Seattle Parks and Recreation is offering a “Lunchtime Adult Boot Camp” at Green Lake Park this fall and winter. The class will led by a certified and experienced instructor who will, according to a Parks Department news release, “deliver guidance, encouragement, and safe and effective exercises in a friendly environment.” Every participant will be challenged differently at his or her own level. Boot Camp will be Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12 p.m. There will be two sessions: October 18 – Nov. 22, 2011 (there will be no class on Nov. 24, Thanksgiving Day) and Nov. 29 – Jan. 6, 2012….
