Several teachers at Green Lake area public schools earn National Board certification

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards announced yesterday (Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010) that 71 Seattle Public Schools teachers earned their National Board certification in 2010. Seattle now has 227 National Board-certified teachers, an increase of more than 40 percent over last year. The National Board noted that Seattle Public Schools is among the nation’s top 20 districts in terms of the number of teachers who achieved national certification in 2010, ranking sixth. Seattle Public Schools releases detailed school reports

Earlier today (Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010), Seattle Public Schools released detailed information about each school in the district, as well as a district-wide scorecard. The two-page School Reports showcase how each individual school is doing – from test scores to absence rates to family satisfaction with the school.  They show academic growth measurements, student/family engagement and the perceptions of environment and leadership at the school, and student proficiency on state tests.  They also include a narrative from each principal about how the school is working to improve outcomes for all students. “We hope School Reports help guide families in the…
