Seattle Canoe and Kayak Club plant liquidation tomorrow

The Seattle Canoe and Kayak Club (SCKC), which is located at the Green Lake Small Craft Center at the southwest corner of Green Lake (5900 West Green Lake Way N), is holding their annual plant liquidation tomorrow (Saturday, April 28, 2012), 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Floral and edible plant starts will be available at the Aqua Theater, located right next to the Small Craft Center. Donations made for the plants will benefit SCKC.

The 2012 Green Lake Milk Carton Derby

This summer’s Green Lake Milk Carton Derby, a Seafair tradition, will be Saturday, July 14, 2012, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The homemade rafts take off from the southwest corner of Green Lake, near the Aqua Theater and the Green Lake Small Craft Center (5900 West Green Lake Way N). The rafts’ primary floatation must be dependent upon milk cartons. Registration for the event is now open at seafair.com/milkcartonderby.

April Pools Day at Green Lake’s Evans Pool

Seattle Parks and Recreation is hosting April Pools Day on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. at Green Lake’s Evans Pool (7201 E Green Lake Dr N). Low-cost life jacket and helmet sales at Green Lake’s Evans Pool

Seattle Parks and Recreation will sell low-cost life jackets and helmets one Saturday a month from May through September at Green Lake’s Evans Pool (7201 E Green Lake Dr N). Life jacket and helmet sales will be held from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the following Saturdays: May 19, 2012 June 16, 2012 July 21, 2012 August 18, 2012 September 15, 2012 The life jackets are being offered by the Parks Department in partnership with Seattle Children’s Hospital, the Coast Guard Auxiliary and Mustang Survival.
