Tangletown’s Bandolero Restaurant & Tequila Bar closes

Bandolero (2253 North 56th St) has closed. The restaurant and tequila bar opened in August 2010 in a spot formerly occupied by Pour House and Luau Polynesian Lounge. “I was there Saturday night at 9:30 and it was open as usual with a decent group of customers,” Bandolero patron Sonja Hardenbrook told us. “Walked by Sunday at 3 p.m. and it was all closed up with a goodbye letter on the door. Bummer. I am very sad to see them go.” Bandolero’s website and Facebook page both make no mention of the closing, and no notice of the closure has been sent over an email mailing list…

The local site classified humanity, which features “random bits from the archives of a certain Seattle newspaper,” recently profiled this clip from the May 9, 1905 issue of The Seattle Times: SAYS “BLIND PIG” IS RUNNING Green Lake Woman Claims Her Husband Gets Drunk Every Night. A “blind pig” is running at Green Lake. East Green Lake’s Latona Pub featured on KING 5

The Latona Pub (6423 Latona Ave NE) was featured on KING 5 last night (Tuesday, April 19, 2011). The pub is celebrating Earth Week by avoiding the use of delivery vans: they are hauling beer by foot to Green Lake from various breweries all over town. “I worry that people don’t think about what it takes to get ingredients to your kitchen or beer to your bar,” Elliot Ryan, the Manager of the Latona Pub, told KING 5:
