If you’re at the lake today (and, judging by this amazing weather, most of Seattle probably will be), you may come across a celebration of World Wide Knit in Public Day, hosted by The Seattle NorthEnd Knitters. As of 9:30 this morning (Saturday, June 12, 2010), 39 fiber artists have RSVP’d to the event, which begins at 11 a.m. at the Green Lake Wading Pool and runs until 4 p.m. It’ll be a Fiber Arts Fiesta for all fiber crafts and anyone interested in learning about them. On the heels of the sad speculation that the Green Lake Baskin-Robbins may be closing up shop, we have some happier news to share: a new business is putting down roots on the west side of Green Lake. Spindle, an indie arts and crafts store, will be opening soon at 7305 Linden Ave N, in the Linden Corners space once occupied by Flock.
