A note from Gracie’s family: Our beloved cat Gracie has been missing for four days now. She is an indoor/outdoor cat, and we’re afraid someone may have mistaken her for a stray. We have bought her several collars in the past that have the safety release, so she’s always losing them when she’s out and about. She came home very late Saturday night with a plain brown collar on that someone else must have attached. Sunday she got outside again and didn’t come home at all that night. Lion escapes den at Woodland Park Zoo
From our news partner, seattlepi.com: Officials at the Woodland Park Zoo were investigating Tuesday how a lion managed to escape its den just minutes before the zoo closed. The zoo’s emergency response team kept the female African lion contained in the feline house after it walked away from its sleeping den and wandered into a service hallway about 3:55 p.m., according to a news release. “The lion was contained inside the building and at no time were visitors or the staff in any danger,” zoo officials said in the news release. Update, Sunday Oct. 9: Some good news from Snickers’ owners: Snickers has been found!!! Thank you to everybody who kept their eyes out for her. She was found today in a neighbor’s basement, where she had been stuck for 10 days! We are so happy to have her back. Thanks again!
