Adult softball at Lower Woodland Park
In addition to men’s and women’s leagues, Seattle Parks and Recreation is now offering an adult Summer/Fall Co-ed Softball League on either Tuesdays or Thursdays at one of the Lower Woodland Park playfields. Games will take place at 6 p.m., 7:30 p.m. or 9 p.m. from August 14 – October 11, 2012. There will be a total of nine games. The two teams with the best records will receive trophies, and the first place team will also receive t-shirts. A fee of $835 is due at registration. Organ concert at the Green Lake Church of Seventh-day Adventists
The Green Lake Church of Seventh-day Adventists (6350 East Green Lake Way N) is hosting an evening of organ music, featuring Dr. Carol Terry and seven organ students from the University of Washington School of Music, on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 8 p.m. A reception with the artists will follow the concert. There is a suggested donation of $20; tickets are available here. The performance is part of a year-long concert series celebrating the recent installation of the church’s new Burton K. Extra DUI patrols planned for Cinco de Mayo
Public Health – Seattle & King County has announced that extra DUI patrols will be out this Cinco de Mayo weekend: Thirty-three local law enforcement agencies, the Washington State Liquor Control Board, and the Washington State Patrol have scheduled extra DUI officers and troopers to remove dangerous drivers from the road. Law enforcement also will visit bars to ensure responsible service. One of the Seattle’s biggest Cinco de Mayo celebrations is held in Green Lake, at the Green Lake Tacos Guaymas (6808 E Green Lake Way N).
