Author and illustrator Alex Beard is visiting Mockingbird on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 4 p.m.
A portion of the sales of Alex’s most recent book for children, Crocodile’s Tears, benefit a land reserve in Africa. The book is about a rhinoceros and tickbird and the endangered animals they encounter on a journey to discover why the crocodile is crying.
Mockingbird Books will also be hosting Stephanie Barden’s launch party for her second book in the Cinderella Smith series, Cinderella Smith: The More the Merrier, on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 1 p.m.
Response to her first book has been tremendous and her newest will not disappoint. Cinderella loves words and invents her own as she prepares for a school spelling bee with her friend Erin. At the same time, her onetime friend Rosemary starts picking on her and others in the class. How will Cinderella deal with this class bully? Celebrate with us as we hear Stephanie talk about her latest book.
