The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will begin a paving project on NE Ravenna Blvd on Monday, March 19, 2012.
The project, which should be complete by fall 2012, address the long-standing pothole problem on the street, as well as the wide pedestrian crossing at the intersection in front of the Green Lake Starbucks.
Construction work will consist of:
- grinding and removing the existing asphalt roadway
- repairing select areas of the underlying concrete roadway base and repaving the roadway with new asphalt pavement
- upgrading pedestrian curb ramps
- building a curb bulb at E Green Lake Drive N and NE 71st Street to improve the pedestrian environment
Traffic will be reduced to one lane during the majority of the work, and on-street parking will be temporarily removed. The bike lane will be closed at times during construction.

Glad to hear they’re working on this, but please people. Slow down on alternative parallel streets. Many, too many, people go over 40 miles an hour on g l neighborhood streets. Thx!
