Plant expert Arthur Lee Jacobson will be leading a Green Lake Tree Tour on Friday, March 30, 2012, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., rain or shine.

The tree tour will not go all of the way around Green Lake. It will loop around the north and northwest shores, which Arthur says are the best tree areas. “Green Lake features over 200 different kinds of trees, from exquisite flowering cherries to magnificent oaks,” Jacobson says. “The Yoshino Cherry trees ought to be lovely in bloom.”

The tour begins by the front doors of the Green Lake Community Center (7201 E Green Lake Dr N). After the tour, you are welcome to join Arthur for lunch.

Arthur Lee Jacobson is the author of Trees of Green LakeTrees of Seattle, and Wild Plants of Greater Seattle. He lists the varieties of trees that circle Green Lake on arthurleej.com.

The tour costs $10. For more information, call (206) 328-8733 or e-mail ALJ [at] consultant.com.
