  2. N. Greenlake neighbor says:

Wonder if they will have a happy hour?  Would be nice to add another place to the rotation so we can go somewhere other than Dukes or Bluwater (in walking distance).

  3. Helen says:

We’re so excited to have sushi as our neighbor!! We’re counting down the days until the grand opening! Welcome to Greenlake!!

Mio sushi is interested in bio-diversity or caring for the planet.  They say they get their fish from sustainable resources… they don’t.  They say their Salmon is wild, it isn’t, it’s farmed.  They say they get their shrimp locally, they don’t it’s imported from Thailand.  They also use very intense (have to wear rubber gloves to your elbows or it will a burn a layer off your skin) chemical cleaners and offer little room for franchise owners to make thier own decisons about what products they use.  All in all Mio’s sushi knows all the right things to say to play to the Northwest sustainability crowd, but in truth, their practices do reflect a commitment to such.  I know, I am a former employee and was appalled at what we said to customers vs. the truth.

*I mean they are not interested in bio-diversity…
