Forza on track to open Jan. 21

Debbie Macdonald of Forza Coffee Company reports that Forza is on track to open on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2011. Green Lake Park Tree Walk Map

View Green Lake Tree Walk in a larger map An online tree walk map is now available for Green Lake Park. The map was created by the new Green Lake/Wallingford Tree Ambassadors, Penny Kriese and Jessica Roundy. It contains information about some of the more notable trees along the Green Lake path, such as tree names, photos, location with GPS coordinates, tree size, habitat, and some tidbits of tree history. Community surveyed on the City of Seattle’s Climate Action Plan

The City of Seattle is updating the Climate Action Plan. The goal of the Climate Action Plan is to significantly reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions produced in the city. The city is seeking community input in the form of a survey, available here. The survey should take 10 minutes or less to complete. “We are testing out some ideas and asking for feedback on how Seattle can achieve a low-carbon future,” Sara Wysocki Environmental Sustainability Coordinator at the Office of Sustainability & Environment says.

Tabby cat lost in south Green Lake area: Have you seen Lucy? — UPDATE: Lucy’s been found

We received the following note from Michelle this afternoon (Monday, Dec. 19, 2011): I live on the North/West end of Lower Woodland, about 1 block from Kid Valley. My kitty Lucy, a grey and black adult tabby female is missing. I am thinking she may have been chased (by another animal, cat or raccoon) across 50th and into the park towards the lake.
