Hearthstone resident says she is “madder than a wet hen” about proposed change to Route 16

Last month, King County Metro published a proposal for a September 2012 change to Greater Seattle’s transit system. The proposed service change includes a new route, Route 63, which would replace Route 26. We took a close look at this possible new route here. Metro is also proposing changes to Route 16, which connects downtown Seattle to the Northgate neighborhood via east Green Lake. Under the proposed service change, trips would be added Route 16, and the north part of the route would be moved to N 92nd St and 1st Ave NE. Pathway of Lights at Green Lake Park

Updated Nov. 28, 2011 Staff at the Green Lake Community Center continue preparations for the 35th Pathway of Lights, the annual lighting of the path around Green Lake. The luminary walk is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, 5-8 p.m., rain or shine.  Details are available here, a facebook page for the event is here and the following poster will soon be printed:

New programs at Green Lake Community Center: Youth Holiday Pottery and Pee Wee Sports

Carl Bergquist, Green Lake Community Center Assistant Coordinator, asked us to help spread the word about some new programs at the community center (7201 E Green Lake Dr N): We have added a second Youth with Parent (family) Holiday Pottery Class in December. This is a two session class that is designed for kids aged 7-12 to make a holiday family piece to share during the holidays and will include a firing and a glazing. New book “Seattle On Ice” includes scenes from Green Lake
