Many thanks to Jillian for the following information about the Seattle Greenlake Running Group:

Green Lake Running Group is a meetup.com group that brings runners together for near-daily events around Green Lake.

The group is organized by Loka Murphy, Brandon Renfrow and Jeremy Sullivan and was started about 2 years ago.

Mondays the group meets for a track workouts in lower Woodland park, at 5:30 am and also around 6:30 pm.

Tuesday evenings there is a training run that meets a Starbucks around 6:30 pm.

Wednesday morning loops around the lake start at 5:30, 6, and 6:30 am, typically drawing close to 30 runners.

Thursday is a fun run in the evening around the lake, often followed by a social event.

On Saturdays 50 or more runners typically gather in the Bathhouse Theater parking lot and head out in groups based on pace and distance, many people training for half and full marathons, and just as many folks just headed out for a nice long run with their running club friends. One group, called the Lakers, stays at the lake and run/walks the inner loop.

Monthly events, like stair-climbers and yoga happen on Sundays.

I’ve really enjoyed being part of this group and met many great fellow runners and friends. We’re always looking to have more people out on the road with us. We have runners of all ages, experiences, and speeds!
