John, who lives near Meridian Ave N & N 61st St, asked us to pose a question to the neighborhood:

How is cell phone reception for you in Green Lake?

Specifically, John is curious about T-Mobile reception in southeast Green Lake, but we would be curious to hear about other carriers elsewhere in Green Lake as well.

Please share your experiences concerning Green Lake cell phone reception in the comments — thank you!

I haven’t had any problem anywhere around the lake with Verizon.

You mean, problems other than the fact that most of my house seems to be a huge dead zone…? Thanks, AT&T…

I’ve got T-Mobile and I’ve never had any problems with coverage around Green Lake or indeed the entire Phinney/Greenwood Neighborhood. There’s a cell tower to the SE of Green Lake that gives good coverage. The only dead spot for T-Mobile that I know of in the area is under the Aurora Bridge. You get no signal at Adobe’s offices there.

Crowdsourced coverage maps based by carrier.  I have used this a few times and it’s great.  You can compare each carrier by voice and also data quality.  You can plug in your address and it will tell you how many respondents from each area so you can judge for yourself.

They also have an iPhone & Android app if you want to use that.

I live up at the top of the hill from the library and have T Mobile. My service is not very good. I usually get two or three bars when I’m in the house; a little better on the porch or in the alley…It’s frustrating on a day like today, when I really can’t go out in the back yard to make calls

I live near 71st and Fremont down the hill from Phinney and I have no problems with Sprint. I even use it as a mobile Hotspot for internet when my Comcast fails (which is way too often).

I have Sprint and have zero reception in my house on the North side of Greenlake.
