Local painter Amy Pleasant has created a series of 30 paintings that were inspired by Green Lake:

The paintings were Amy’s contribution to the 30 Day Art Challenge, a month-long Seattle art event that took place in October.

From Amy:

It was a great experience and it turned out to be an experiment with color and abstraction all done to the backdrop of one of my favorite places, Green Lake.  If the sun is out, Seattle is there; walking, jogging, biking, roller blading, skate boarding. There are also the others, like myself, who keep walking through the rain, wind and snow.  I have taken over 200 pictures with my iphone that I’ve been wanting to do something with.  The 30 day challenge provided, well . . . the challenge.

Amy’s paintings, as well as works of art from 99 other artists who participated in the 30 Day Art Challenge, will be exhibited and sold at TK Gallery (115 Prefontaine Pl S) on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, 5-10 p.m.
