The annual Candlelight Christmas Concert at the Green Lake Church of Seventh-day Adventists (6350 East Green Lake Way N) will be on Friday Dec. 16, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. The concert includes Christmas music, including the Magnificat by Giovanni Pergolesi, and familiar carols performed by the Adult, Children’s and Youth Choirs and the Green Lake Church Orchestra. The concert will conclude with singing of congregational carols by candlelight. The concert is free. Local artist creates 30 paintings inspired by Green Lake
Local painter Amy Pleasant has created a series of 30 paintings that were inspired by Green Lake: The paintings were Amy’s contribution to the 30 Day Art Challenge, a month-long Seattle art event that took place in October. Informal bird walks around Green Lake planned for Dec. 17 and Jan. 21
An informal group of birders is meeting for two walks around Green Lake. The walks will be at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 and Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012. They will last about 2-3 hours and may include a coffee stop. Walkers will meet at West Green Lake Beach (7312 West Green Lake Dr N) and will walk counterclockwise around Green Lake.
