Dry Cleaning Station closes unexpectedly, leaving customers in the lurch

Green Lake’s Dry Cleaning Station (7404 Aurora Ave N) has closed. Yesterday (Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011), customers’ items that had been left at Dry Cleaning Station were moved to Dry Cleaning Solutions, in Burien (15712 1st Ave S). Dry Cleaning Solutions is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The shop can be reached at (206) 243-9400. According to Dry Cleaning Station customer Chris Cerman, no advance notice was given to customers that their belongings were being moved more than 16 miles south of where they were originally dropped off for cleaning. Parks Department offers lunchtime adult boot camp at Green Lake Park

photo credit: zach.hodgson Seattle Parks and Recreation is offering a “Lunchtime Adult Boot Camp” at Green Lake Park this fall and winter. The class will led by a certified and experienced instructor who will, according to a Parks Department news release, “deliver guidance, encouragement, and safe and effective exercises in a friendly environment.” Every participant will be challenged differently at his or her own level. Boot Camp will be Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12 p.m. There will be two sessions: October 18 – Nov. 22, 2011 (there will be no class on Nov. 24, Thanksgiving Day) and Nov. 29 – Jan. 6, 2012….

Two cars crash head-on, closing Green Lake Way in both directions

At 9:23 p.m. this evening (Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011), we received a tip from a woman who identified herself as “Heidi” about a car crash on Green Lake Way near the Green Lake Pitch and Putt golf course. Heidi reported that both directions of Green Lake Way N were closed to traffic due to the incident, which involved two cars that crashed head-on. 9-1-1 dispatch records confirm that a fire engine was sent to 5700 East Green Lake Way N at 9:06 p.m. Another fire engine and a medic were dispatched six minutes later.
