The Seattle Public Theater (SPT) at the Green Lake Bathhouse (7312 West Green Lake Dr N) is selling its seats today.
The theater acquired the seats in 1997 from the Ridgemont Theatre (7720 Greenwood Ave N). The Ridgemont Theater was closed in 1989; the building that housed it was demolished in October 2001.
The seats, which are estimated to be over 80 years old, are being sold for $25 each.
Dave Rosencrans took this picture of the seats just before 10 a.m. this morning (Monday, August 29, 2011):
SPT is installing new seats this fall. The theater is currently running a fundraising Seat Naming Campaign. More information is available in this PDF.

The Seattle Public Theater is a My Green Lake advertiser.

Why are they selling them? Are they closing?
Whoops. Didn’t see last sentence in my panic that they might be closing their doors. I’m still reeling from the closure of The Intiman. (which is planning to re-open, thank goodness.)
:)
Are these still for sale? My university is in search of furniture pieces for a fast approaching production and is very much intrested in potentially making at least 8 of these chairs additions to out stock. Please contact me via email!
Hi Emily,
The seats have all be sold, unfortunately! They apparently went quite fast.I’ll shoot you an email too. :)
