Seattle Parks and Recreation’s Quickstart tennis league for youth is holding a jamboree at the Lower Woodland Park tennis courts this Thursday (August 18, 2011), 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. All ten tennis courts will be in use by Quickstart program participants during the jamboree. No courts will be available for public use. Everyone is welcome to watch the jamboree, which will will include fun, lightly-competitive matches between up to 100 kids aged 7 to 10. Car crashes into gas pump at 76 Gas Station
Earlier this evening (Monday, August 15, 2011), a car crashed into a gas pump at the 76 Gas Station at 84th and Aurora (8408 Aurora Ave N). According to 911 logs, one fire engine was dispatched to the gas station at 5:23 p.m. Mitch Spute was at the gas station following the crash. “Somehow the driver, headed west on N 85th St, crossed the east lanes,” Mitch says. “He went through bushes and landed there. 2011 Athleta Iron Girl 10K and 5K Run and Walk
The 2011 Athleta Iron Girl Women’s 10K/ 5K Run and Walk is coming to Green Lake Park on Sunday, September 11, 2011.
