Earlier this evening (Tuesday, July 5, 2011), KING 5 aired a segment about a man who stood guard over an injured Great Blue Heron last night and this morning at Green Lake Park.
Mike Murphy was walking around Green Lake when he noticed a ball of fishing line wrapped around the bird’s leg.
“He and other good Samaritans called every agency they could think of until William Miller of Sarvey Wildlife Center showed up with a blanket, a knife and a small pet kennel,” KING 5 reports. “Moments later, Miller had the frightened bird safely on its way to a veterinarian.”

Love this story! Love Sarvey Wildlife. Great place to volunteer, also. If you can commit 4 hrs/wk I HIGHLY recommend it.. experience of a lifetime.
