Golden retriever puppy lost in north Green Lake: Have you seen Nacho? — UPDATE: Nacho has been found

Nacho, a 10-week-old male golden retriever puppy, went missing last night (Wednesday, June 22, 2011) between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Nacho’s owner, Tom Fritz, says that Nacho was last seen on their home’s deck at N 76th St at Winona Ave N. Nacho was wearing a green collar. He did not yet have dog tags. Have you seen Nacho? Please call Tom at (206) 755-6649 or (303) 521-0322. Update, Thursday June 30 – Nacho has been found!

Free fitness block party scheduled for July 2 in east Green Lake

Mayor shares kudos for Green Lake Crew staff

Earlier this afternoon (Tuesday, June 21, 2011), Seattle’s Mayor Mike McGinn posted about the staff of the Green Lake Crew program on his blog. Mayor McGinn says that he recently received a letter from a parent who has a son in the crew program. “She wanted to let me know about the good work our staff had done to help her son fulfill his dreams,” McGinn writes. “It’s a great letter, and I appreciated her comments. Evans Pool temporarily closed [UPDATE - The pool is now open]

Update, 1:30 p.m. – the pool is now open again.   Earlier: According to the Parks Department, the main circulation pump at Green Lake’s Evans Pool (7201 E Green Lake Dr N) has failed. Parks crews have ordered a replacement and are working to get the pool reopened. The Parks Department will use the Parkways blog to announce when the pool reopens. The nearest alternative pools are Ballard Pool (1471 NW 67th St) and Meadowbrook Pool (10515 35th Ave NE).
