Jason and Katie Clack, who own Motion Boardshop at 8310 Aurora Ave N, are expanding their business and opening a coffee shop in the same building.
The Aurora building formerly held Karin’s Beauty Supplies. In August 2010, Motion Boardshop moved into part of the space, and for the last several months Jason and Katie have been preparing to open a coffee shop as well.
Katie says that they haven’t settled on a name for the cafe, but a current front runner is “Board Room Cafe.” Board sports will be incorporated into the cafe’s theme.

Katie, who has worked as a personal chef and caterer, says that sandwiches, soups, and salads will be made in-house. Baked goods from Macrina Bakery and Stumptown Coffee will be available.
The space will be welcoming to all, with specials for kids and free wifi.
The coffee shop’s projected opening date is Sunday, June 26, 2011, and the planned opening hours are 6 a.m. – 6 p.m., seven days a week.
