The Seattle Public Theater (SPT) at the Green Lake Bathhouse (7312 West Green Lake Dr N) invites you to a Youth Program performance of an adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women, directed by Carmel Baird.

Performances are scheduled for Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 29 at 7 p.m., and Monday, May 30 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.  While all youth shows are free, donations are gladly accepted.

“The classic Little Women is a story about fours sisters: tempestuous Jo, mature Meg, shy Beth, and vain Amy,” reads a press release from SPT. “Each sister is struggling to overcome her faults, be true to herself and her sisters, and keep her family going in this warm tale of love, family, and individuality during the American Civil War.”

“Little Women will appeal to all those who loved the book and even to those who didn’t the first time around,” says Artistic and Education Director Shana Bestock.  “I promise they’ll be charmed by this fun adaptation. it’s smart and not at all sappy and the kids are just delightful!”
