Green Lake resident Jeremy Holmes has had a few rough experiences in the neighborhood lately and he wants to share his story. A lifelong Seattle resident, Jeremy is an employee at FROGBOX Seattle. The company rents reusable plastic moving boxes and moving supplies. “As a way of reducing overhead and reducing our environmental impact,” Jeremy says, “we don’t have an office or retail location.” Instead, Jeremy works at local coffee shops and out of the company’s 18′ box-truck. Free party featuring Beatles-inspired art and music at Sugarcomb Salon
Sugarcomb Salon (780 N 73rd St) is hosting a free party on Saturday, June 4, 2011, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The Beatles-inspired work of Seattle artist Casey Brookbush will be shown, and a to-be-announced lineup of musicians will be covering Beatles tunes. Wine will be served. A facebook event page describes the evening as “a perfect pre-func for your Saturday night plans.” All ages are welcome.

Planking has come to Green Lake. Planking, otherwise known as “the lying down game”, is ”the action of lying face down with arms to the sides of the body in unusual public spaces and photographing it,” according to wikipedia. North Green Lake’s new Italian restaurant Trattoria Cioppino on track to open soon
Trattoria Cioppino will be opening soon at 7900 East Green Lake Dr N. Head chef and co-owner Riccardo Simeone says that the restaurant is currently preparing for a soft opening. Riccardo hopes to ease into things and he has asked me to keep the exact date mum. I can say, however, that the doors will open within the next couple of weeks.
