Woman reports attack at Green Lake Park and Ride
Jonah Spangenthal-Lee is reporting on SeattleCrime.com that a woman told police that she was attacked at the Green Lake Park and Ride (6601 8th Ave NE) on Friday night (April 22, 2011). You can read details here. Note that the police report lists the case as “inactive,” which could indicate that police are not investigating the woman’s claim.
Construction to begin this winter at former Vitamilk site, plans include new PCC
Construction is finally moving forward at the former Vitamilk Dairy site, and the new building should be open by late 2013. The east Green Lake property, frequently referred to by locals as “The Big Hole,” has been a vacant pit since development was stalled three years ago. Located between Woodlawn Ave NE, NE 71st St, 5th Ave NE, and NE 72nd St, the site covers more than three acres of land. The property developers, Lorig Associaties, originally planned at 120,000-square-foot, mixed-use project for the site. Plans for the development, called Park 71 @ Greenlake, included public plazas, approximately 480 apartments, more than 120,000 square feet of commercial space…

Fire alarm at Daniel Bagley School
The Seattle Fire Department responded to a fire alarm today (Tuesday, April 26, 2011) at Daniel Bagley Elementary School (7821 Stone Ave N). Two units (Engine 16 and Ladder 5) were called to the school at 3:30 p.m., the school’s regular pick-up time. “Students who had been dismissed out the main entrance were called back to line up in the play yard, according to usual fire drill procedure,” Bagley parent Erica Grivas reports. ”I don’t know the cause of the alarm, but there were no outward signs of smoke.” No additional units were sent to the scene and the incident is now closed, according…
