Village Cove, a retirement community which will soon be built in east Green Lake, is offering a free pain management seminar on Tuesday (May 3, 2011), 2 – 3 p.m. The seminar will take place in the chapel at The Hearthstone (6720 E Green Lake Way N). Dr. David Tauben from the UW Medical Center’s new Center for Pain Relief will lead the seminar. He will discuss innovative treatment techniques in chronic pain management. Hello spring! Baby ducks hatch in Green Lake yard
Many thanks to Nancy Johnson for sharing the following photos, which truly herald spring in Green Lake. On Tuesday (April 26, 2011), ten ducklings hatched in Nancy’s west Green Lake yard: Ducks regularly travel across Aurora Ave N from Green Lake to nest in Nancy’s yard. Last fall up to sixteen ducks were in her yard at one time, and there are eight regular visitors who make the trip every day. ”They want bird seed,” she says, “and will tap on our back door to remind us to put some out for them if we haven’t put it out already.” Update, May 7:…
