2011 Cinco de Mayo block party at the Green Lake Tacos Guaymas

The Green Lake Tacos Guaymas (6808 E Green Lake Way N) is once again celebrating Cinco de Mayo with a block party. More than 3,000 people are expected at the event, which is now in its tenth year.

The party will start at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2011, and will move inside at 10 p.m., where it will continue until 1 a.m.

The block of 2nd Ave NE between E Green Lake Way N and Woodlawn Ave NE will be inaccessible to traffic 7 a.m. – 12 a.m.

Northbound Metro Route 26 will be rerouted off 2nd Ave NE. The bus will instead travel via Woodlawn Ave NE, 4th Ave NE, and E Green Lake Way N. Route 26 service heading towards downtown Seattle will not be affected.

There will be a jalapeño-eating contest, a beer garden, a margarita bar, and Sauza Girls.

Live music will be playing all day. The lineup includes the salsa band Grupo Ashé, Gosa Dj Crew, percussionist Ricardo Guity, Done One, CITO the CEO, and a mariachi band. There will be a live 106.1 KISS FM broadcast.

You must be 21 or older to attend the party on the street or in the bar. All ages are welcome in the restaurant.
