Green Lake is open for fishing all year, but official trout-fishing season began today (Saturday, April 30, 2011). The Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife (WDFW) released thousands of rainbow trout in Green Lake earlier this spring. (You can see pictures of the trout being released into Green Lake here.) A fishing license is required for everybody aged 15 and older who wishes to fish in Washington State’s lakes. Youth under age 15 do not need a license. Update, May 19, 2011 – Pepper has been found! Another dog lost Green Lake dog has being reported. Pepper was lost this morning (Saturday, April 30, 2011) at approximately 8 a.m. from N 82nd St at Linden Ave N in northwest Green Lake. “She sweet and shy,” Scott says. “We were loading her up to go running in the forest and she ran off.” Pepper is a Husky mix. PCC food drives will help fill school lunch gap during summer months
Starting tomorrow (Saturday, May 1, 2011) and throughout the month of May, PCC Natural Markets are hosting food drives to benefit kids in need. Specially-marked donation bins will be set up inside all nine Puget Sound PCC stores, including the Greenlake PCC (7504 Aurora Ave N).
