Green Lake’s new yogurt shop, zoëyogurt, is opening its doors this Wednesday (March 9, 2011).
Zoëyogurt is located in the Circa Greenlake building (6900 E Green Lake Way N), across the gated Circa entrance from Turnpike Pizza.
Along with a rotating selection of 12 flavors of yogurt and sorbet, zoëyogurt will offer more than 30 toppings, including fruit, candies, cereals, and syrups. Opening week flavors are Alpine Vanilla, Blueberry Acai Tart, Cable Car Chocolate, Cappuccino, Cookies ‘n Cream, New York Cheesecake, Original Tart, Peanut Butter, Raspberry, Red Velvet Cake, Very Strawberry, and Mango Tango Sorbet.
The yogurt, which is provided by YoCream, is certified by the National Yogurt Association and contains over 100 million live and active cultures per gram. All selections are kosher, most are nonfat and gluten-free, and some flavors contain no sugar. The sorbet is nondairy. Full nutritional information for each selection is posted on the wall.
Customers will be able to sample flavors and then serve themselves as much yogurt, sorbet, and toppings as they like for a fixed price of 43¢ per ounce.
Zoëyogurt is not a franchise. It is independently owned by Tom and Donna Hudson. The couple named the shop after their dog, Zoë.
The shop will be open Sunday through Thursday, 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 a.m.

I hope they do well since that space has been open for quite some time. Yogurt shop and smoothie shop in the same building I find to be a peculiar choice.

These places are a hit in Southern California. I’m sure it will do well here! The ones I have been to have happy hours, on say Monday afternoons with half price yogurt from 4-5pm, maybe they will do something similar!

We went there today and it was great! The staff were very friendly, and they had dog biscuits for our dog. We will be sure to go back.
