A supermoon, the largest full moon in more than 18 years, could be seen on Saturday night (March 19, 2011). Will Parker shared these great photographs with us that he and @CurlingRiver shot at Green Lake Park on Saturday. “We ran into a Buddhist meditation group admiring the moon,” Will says, “so we were able to take long exposures of very quiet, very still people. 2011 Green Lake Spring Egg Scramble canceled
The 2011 Spring Egg Scramble at the Green Lake Community Center (7201 E Green Lake Dr N) has been canceled. The popular egg hunt is a victim of the City of Seattle’s 2011-12 Budget, which had severe impacts on the Department of Parks and Recreation’s operations at Green Lake Park. In addition to losing programing space, a total of five staff positions were lost at the Green Lake Community Center and the Green Lake Small Craft Center in January.
