Celebrate National Poetry Month with open mic poetry sessions at the Green Lake Library

April is National Poetry Month. Seattle Public Library is celebrating with a variety of free programs, including three “PoetsWest” events at the Green Lake Library (7364 E Green Lake Dr N).

The open mic poetry sessions will be held on the first three Saturdays in April:

Saturday, April 2, 2011, 4:00 – 5:45 p.m.
An open mic session will follow featured poets Keith Holyoak, Chris Jarmick and others to be announced.

 

 

Saturday, April 9, 2011, 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
William O’Daly will read from Pablo Neruda’s poetry and fiction. An open mic session will follow.

 

 

Saturday, April 16, 2011, 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
This session will feature Quill & Parchment Poets on a National Poetry Month Pacific Northwest tour, including Sharmagne Leland-St. John, David Matthews and Curtis White Carroll. A limited open mic session will follow.

    Open Mike? Who is this Michael guy and why is he so open? Is there a chance that you are referring to an open microphone, commonly called an “open mic”?
