Green Lake resident Sarah Valdes has just formed a Washington State chapter of Eats on Feets, an international human milk sharing network.

The Eats on Feets network helps connect lactating women with moms who are not able to supply their babies with enough of their own breast milk. All of the donated milk is provided to mothers free of charge.

“I’m trying to resurrect the old-school way of mothers helping each other out,” Valdes says.

The new group, “Eats on Feets ~ Washington” can be found on Facebook. “Whether you need just a few ounces to get baby through to your next feeding, a few day’s supply until your milk comes in, or a more long-term donor,” the Facebook page reads, ”please don’t hesitate to post it on our wall. Mommies who have milk to spare, please post here also. We will do our best to match up those who have with those in need.”
