Think you can run 19 times around the Green Lake loop?
You can give it on a try at the Dizzy Daze Marathon on Saturday, March 26, 2011. The race, which begins at 7 a.m., has four distance options: 13.1 mile, 26.2 mile, 50K (10 loops around the outer running path), and 100K (19+ loops).
“All the pain and suffering of an ultra,” reads the event’s website, “without the annoying change in scenery!”
According to the website, Dizzy Daze is the brainchild of Jonathan Bernard and Sam Thompson. They set out to create “Seattle’s hardest and easiest 50K/100K races.” Green Lake Park, which is “pancake-flat,” is the location of the easy race and the difficult one is at hilly Carkeek Park.

Just FYI, it’s a 13.1 mile, 26.2 mile, and then a 50K and 100K. Not 13.1K and 26.2K.
Thank you so much for this. Can you tell I’m not a runner? ;)
I’ve updated the post — thanks again!
Amy
We could fix that, you know… we teach folks to run every weekend around Green Lake…
Thanks for posting this! We’ll be out there from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., so feel free to wander by and gawk at our little parade of fools. And please bring sunshine!
